In Times of Trouble
Happy Wednesday!
P.S. Currently in a book reading phase. I think it's my way of procrastinating now that I have to record a bunch of music for Knock & Boots.

20 Before 20: An Update
If you haven't checked out my 20 Before 20 list, you can do so by clicking on the link for it to the left!
If you have checked out my list, I think you'll be happy to know that I've accomplished three things. Now, it may seem like there's a lot more to get done before November 21st (my birthday), and you're right.
Yeah, I really need to buckle down and get this stuff done!
But back to the original business:
1. Get a tattoo.
^Basically a bunch of pictures of me in different dresses, showing off my new tattoo. It's a Calavera R2D2 with hearts. I absolutely adore it and can't wait to put more ink buddies next to the little guy!
4. Dye hair jet black.
In another dress, showing off my jet black hair that has sadly faded to a dark brown. But I'll be dying it again so that'll be festive.
13. Make money off of my music.
I'd rather not show how much I made or any other details like that, but I can proudly and happily say that I can cross this off my 20 Before 20 list. It was really a wonderful time to see that email in my inbox--it was like a little message to let me know that music is what I need to be doing and that it's okay to focus so much time and energy on it.
My band Knock & Boots is gearing up to record our first EP! It's so exciting, I can't even believe that it's happening. I'll be putting the link to our website as soon as it's up but until then here is our new and improved Facebook page that offers free downloads of little covers we do and (of course) updates about our lives and music.
In other news, I'm living in a hotel! While my parents relocate to Santa Cruz and K & I record the EP, we'll be staying in a hotel in my hometown. (A bit boring at times, but it definitely feels like a much needed experience.)
Stay tuned for more comics about my life and music from Knock & Boots!
Happy Wednesday!

Allen Ginsberg and Music
Today is an artwork day!
The line is from Allen Ginsberg's poem, "America."
Font: Bellatrix from Animus
Roses: Photoshop brush from Animus.
Feel free to download and share!
Another reason why there's no comic today is because we've been working hard on music for our band, Knock & Boots.
Recently our song, "Damn Good Wife," was featured on San Diego's ROCK 105.3 Loud and Local show. We're hoping to not only get some more radio time next Sunday, but also a few new fans. I just finished creating our bandcamp site and I must say, I'm pretty proud of it.

You can go to the website by clicking on MUSIC on the left side of this blog! So far we only have three songs up, one for free and two for one dollar. I can't wait to get into the studio with the whole band and finish our EP!
You can support us by liking us on Facebook or buying a song from us.
Tonight we're going out to dinner to celebrate our radio time!
Happy Tuesday!

P.S. Tune into ROCK 105.3 on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. to hear some great San Diego local bands!

Things of June
A small update of what my life has been like in June 2012...
I had to say good-bye to one of my best friends, Moo. Since the whole family is moving into a hotel for a month, we had to find a home for the little guy. I'm glad he got to go to such a great and caring home but at the same time I can't help but tear up knowing that there won't be anymore kitty shenanigans I need to take pictures of.
I got cowboy boots!!!! After going a little crazy over a pair at Target (I now realize that they didn't look good) my dad got me for real cowboy boots from Boot Barn. They are now my go to shoes and I feel like a rock star every single day.

I saved a baby dove! We named her Tully. After about four days of taking care of her we found a wildlife rehabilitation center that takes in all kinds of wild animals. Hopefully little Tully turns out alright!

I SAW JULIA NUNES IN SAN FRANCISCO. On June 9th, Kody and I made the trek out to the city all the way from Sacramento to see my favorite musician. Last time I saw her I forgot how to speak English but this time I managed a creepy, low, monotone voice. I gave her some crayons and managed to take a few awkward pictures.
Get a Chrysler and get off my lawn! |
Kody perfected his Clint Eastwood impersonation.
Hope your June is as full as mine!
